July is an exciting month for us at Relative – it’s our 8th anniversary! From starting as an agency with only Robert, Simon and one member of part-time staff in 2011, to an agency that now has 10 highly skilled members in the team, we are delighted to see a huge development throughout the last 8 years. As a family run business, we know the value of looking after our own: colleague or client, we treat all those we work with as part of the clan. We at Relative understand the importance of looking out for one another and believe that with the right people behind your brand, you can achieve great results.

How it started

Since starting the business we’ve always strived to focus on people, be that our clients or team, ensuring the growth of strong friendships and relationships within our industry. We also want to be known as a business that is constantly evolving and learning, whilst discovering new ideas and practices. So, building a culture within the agency for continuous development has been very important and is something that we want to continue as the business grows!

The growth of the business over the last few years has been really exciting and very rewarding, especially welcoming new team members to help manage the expansion of new clients. It has come with its challenges, but these are exciting challenges that we can accomplish together.

The present to the future

Our team range from web development, graphic design, social media marketing, digital marketing and account directors, and we’re also connected to videographers, motion graphics experts, printers, media buyers and PR specialists – we can reach out and bring in exactly the skills and talents our clients may need.

Our journey doesn’t stop there! 2019 has been a fantastic year so far; we’ve been involved in many brilliant projects and gained positive recognition from our clients and in April 2018, we were proud to be finalists for the E3 family businesses awards. In October 2018, we saw our office expansion, and again later this year due to continued expansion we are extending our offices further.  We’ve also had three new members join the Relative family in May 2019; Isobel our Digital Marketing Assistant, Adam our SEO and Content Strategist and Darren, our Project Manager.

Charity work

At Relative, being part of our local community is very important to us and in 2018 we participated in a number different charity events including joining the Reverse Advent Calendar organised by another local company Media Village and we donated food to the Blackburn Food Bank to help those in need.  We found our Christmas Jumper Day 2018 to be a great opportunity to give back by visiting The Bolton Lads & Girls Club and donated to their food bank.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our clients from everybody at the Relative Team for your continuous support over the last 8 years. We look forward to the next birthday celebration!?

About the author

Robert started off in admin, working for a marketing agency based in Manchester, before deciding he wanted to go to university and gain his HND followed by a BA Hons Degree in Business Finance with Marketing. Since then Rob has worked his way up through the ranks and now holds the position of The Oracle at the office! But unfortunately, unlike the character out of The Matrix, he doesn’t have all the answers for the team (but that doesn’t stop the questions)! Rob never says no to a hot drink (tea or coffee) to help keep his mind stimulated. He spends his time working on the business development of the company, liaising with clients and managing the work flow. And most importantly spends a lot of time working on the personal development of the team… answering questions!
